- Contract Staffing
- A model where a staffing firm employs a professional who works for a client for the length of a project, then rolls off when the work is complete.
- Contract-to-Hire
- A staffing model where a worker starts as a contractor and can convert to a permanent employee after an evaluation period.
- Direct Hire
- Permanent placement of an employee onto the client’s payroll, sourced and screened by the staffing firm.
- Payrolling
- When a staffing firm becomes the employer of record for a worker the client has already identified, handling payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- MSP / VMS
- Managed Service Provider / Vendor Management System: a program where one partner manages a client’s contingent-workforce vendors and spend.
- WOSB
- Woman-Owned Small Business: a federal certification that can help contractors meet small-business and set-aside participation goals.
- Security Clearance
- A government determination of eligibility to access classified information, at levels such as Public Trust, Secret, Top Secret, and TS/SCI.
- ITAR
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations: U.S. export-control rules that restrict handling of defense-related technical data to U.S. persons.
- Cleared Talent
- Professionals who hold an active security clearance, enabling them to work on classified or sensitive government programs.
- Employer of Record
- The legal employer responsible for payroll, taxes, benefits, and employment compliance for a worker, often the staffing firm in contract engagements.
